August:
From the 4 of August to 10:20 p.m., it happened a series of strong earthquakes near the volcano Black Hill. The events with magnitudes MILILITER between 4,0 and 4,7 were felt very strong in Leon and the city of Managua. Twelve hours after beginning the seismic activity it initiated a volcanic eruption. The depth of the earthquakes oscillated between 0,0 and 6.0km. In Leon an intensity V in the scale of Mercalli calculated.
c) Seismic clusters, 2000
April:
Day 14 of April in the sector of Momotombo volcano a seismic cluster was registered that lasted a day. 11 events were registered of which five were located. There was no previous seismicity to the main event. The magnitude of the earthquakes oscillated between 1,8 and 2,4 in the scale of Richter. The depth oscillated between 2 and 3 km.
May:
A seismic cluster in Momotombo Volcano was registered that it initiated first of May and it lasted until day 3. In all the month 111 events were registered of which 48 were located. There were no previous earthquakes to the main event. The magnitude of the earthquakes oscillated between 1,6 and 3,8 in the scale of Richter. The depth was between 2 and 10 km.
June:
In Momotombo volcano day 9 of June, initiated a seismic cluster, registering 946 volcano-tectonic earthquakes, of these were located 52 events. The earthquake more hard had a magnitude of 4.0.
September:
The 14 of September a seismic cluster in the neighborhood of Apoyeque volcano was registered. The magnitudes oscillated between 2,0 and 2,2, the depths between 2 and 8 km.
d) Seismic clusters, 2001
January:
Day 13 of January of the 2001, to 11:35 p.m. local time, began a seismic cluster in the sector of Apoyeque volcano, to 10 kilometers to the Northwest of the city of Managua. The magnitude of the first earthquake was of 2,4 in scale Richter. One hour later an earthquake of magnitude 3,6 was registered that was felt by most of the inhabitants of Managua. The cluster continued and the 17 of January to 12:51 a.m. it happened a strong earthquake of magnitude 5,0 This was felt with intensity V in the neighborhood of Apoyeque Volcano.
April:
To 03:47 a.m. local time of day 21, a small seismic cluster was registered that lasted approximately 2 hours. Altogether 9 earthquakes were registered, four of them were felt. The cluster was located to 41 km to the Southwest of Managua, in the region of San South Rafael. The earthquake of greater magnitude was of 3,2 Richter, with a depth of 1 km San Rafael of Sur and Masachapa registered an intensity V in the scale of Mercalli.
July:
Day 6 of July of the 2001 to 05:20 p.m., local time, the National Seismic Network began to detect earthquakes with origin in the Department of Zelaya. Of 5:20 p.m. to 08:54 p.m. (local time), 8 earthquakes with magnitudes in the rank from 3,0 to 4,3 in the scale of Richter were registered.
e) Seismic clusters, 2002
June:
From the 01 to the 11 of June it gave to beginning a seismic cluster in Momotombo volcano, with an event of magnitude 2,8 in the scale Richter. Nevertheless, the earthquake of greater magnitude happened day 9 of June to 00:14 a.m. local time, the magnitude was of 3,1 in scale Richter to depth of 1,9 km. The only event that was felt in Geothermal Planta was the one of day 8 of June happened to 07:13 a.m. local time, the magnitude was of 2,9 Richter with depth of 4,8 km. The seismic cluster was located to the Southwest of Momotombo volcano and they were registered more than 120 earthquakes, of these were located 23. The greater amount of earthquakes registered day 9 of June with more than 30 events between earthquakes and microearthquakes.
August:
In this month a small seismic cluster in Momotombo volcano was registered. They were managed to register 176 earthquakes, of which 11 it was possible to locate them. The greater amount of earthquakes registered day 01 and 02 of August. Of these earthquakes one was felt by the people who then were in Geothermal Planta of the volcano. The earthquake happened day 2 of August to 02:03 a.m. local time, the magnitude of the 3,2 earthquake was of and the depth of 10 km.
f) Seismic clusters, 2003
February:
Day 25 04:50 p.m. local time, began a seismic cluster in the Boiler of Masaya volcano, that lasted until following day 26 of February. 21 earthquakes were registered, of these was only possible to locate 8 events. The seismic cluster began with earthquakes premonitors to the main event. First it was registered to 04:59 p.m., this had a magnitude of 2.3. Followed of this 11 earthquakes in a time interval of four hours were registered. Later it happened the main earthquake to 08:21 p.m. local time, which had a magnitude of ML= 2,8, and the depth of 6 km. The located earthquakes had a magnitude MILILITER between 2,2 to 2.8. The depth was very superficial, smaller or equal to 6 km.
June:
Day 17, to 05:43 a.m., local time, initiated a seismic cluster in the Lagoon of Xiloá to 13km to the North of the city of Managua. This cluster had more than 54 events premonitors to the main earthquake. The símica activity lasted five days, the greater seismicity happened the 17 of June, that was the day that initiated the cluster. Altogether 197 events were registered, of which 32 were located. The magnitude of the earthquakes oscillated between 1,0 and 3,6 Richter. The greater earthquake had a magnitude of ML=3.6. The depth oscillated between 0 and 10km.
