The geologic formation of Nicaragua has been beginning for more than 600 million years in which Paleozoico is called and continued until the present (Quaternary). For their study, the scientists have divided to their territory in five areas, denominated geologic provinces as he sees himself in the Map N° 10: Geologic provinces of Nicaragua. Each one of these provinces presents/displays own characteristics that are described next:
a) Geologic province of the Pacific:
One is located to the southwest of Nicaragua; it is characterized by a sedimentario atmosphere, the river basin is stuffed of material of marine origin as they are deposited turbidíticos and pelágicos deposits during the superior Cretácico.
b) Province of the Depression:
This province includes all the materials that were deposited in record of Nicaragua and in they record of Managua, the characteristic rocks are volcanic rocks.
c) Central Geologic province:
It is within the Southern province of Central America, great part is as well within the Chortís block and a small portion within chorotegas; the characteristic rocks are volcanic rocks of the Tertiary one.
d) Geologic province of the North:
It includes the Paleozoica platform, the River basin of the Bocay river and area of the North of High Lands of the Interior, the characteristic rocks go of Metamórficas to Volcano-Sedimentario.
e) Province of the Level ones of the Atlantic Coast:
