One of the main studies in Bolivia is to perform hydrological and hydro geological projects which resulted in preparing hydrology map of this country.
By comparing the cross sections of Andes Mountains, it has been determined that the height of Andes Mountains decreased between 150 to 530 kilometers (north to south).
In addition, Bolivia is under the effect of natural geological disasters such as different volcano and earthquakes which results from tectonic condition in western boundaries
Figure 6: Focus of Earthquakes and Volcanoes in Western Boundaries of Bolivia (in above figure, earthquakes)
According that the main earthquake was recorded in recent hundred years occurred in Chile, the west neighboring country of Bolivia as well as the number of earthquakes occurred; this region is introduced as one of the main active regions, seimiologically. This activity is remarkably coincidence with huge subsidence of western coastlines of South America.
