2003:
Day 2 of January of the 2003, a series of earthquakes in the city of Managua began approximately (4Kms. to the North of the coast of the Lake of Managua). The first earthquake was registered to 05:29 p.m., minutes later, to 05:48 p.m. registered the second earthquake with magnitude 3,0, this event was felt slight by few people in Managua. The greater earthquake happened the 2 of January to 11:41 P.M, and had a 3,2 magnitude of Richter, was felt by many people in all the city. It was considered an intensity of III and II in scale of Modified Mercalli.
The earthquakes were felt in the following districts of Managua: San Cristóbal, Santa Rosa, San Judas and Santo Domingo. Also Freedom, Jose Benito Escobar, 10 of June, Don Bosco, Venezuela and Miguel were felt in Villa Gutiérrez. Other places where they felt were in Américas #1, Beautiful Horizon, Colony Maximum Sherry, City Garden, Distribution the Hills, Altamira, Pretty Vista, Batahola and Pancasán. In all these places the seismic waves caused slight movement in hung light objects of the walls of the houses. Also senses in Tipitapa, the Cruise were reported, City Sandino and Mateare.
To 05:35 p.m. of the 27 of January of the 2003, an earthquake of magnitude 4,8 was registered In front of Richter with depth of 60 km, located in the Pacific Ocean Puerto Sandino. According to macroseismic survey via electronic mail and telephone it was felt in: Chinandega, Corinto, Leon, La Paz Center, Managua, the Cruise, Mateare, Nagarote, Masaya and Carazo.
To 10:36 A.M. of the 31 of January, an earthquake of magnitude 3,0 was registered Richter with depth of 11km, located the Pacific Ocean in front of San Juan of the South. The earthquake was felt slight by very few people.
2004:
To 09:17 a.m., local time of day 15 of February, it happened an earthquake located in the Pacific Ocean of Nicaragua, as opposed to the Cosigüina. The magnitude was of 4,3 in scale Richter, to a depth of 20 km. The earthquake was felt by few people who live in the West of Nicaragua. Also it was felt by the Eastern sector of the Salvadoran territory.
Day 24 of February to 08:59 a.m. local time, an earthquake in the Pacific Ocean was registered, as opposed to Corinto. The magnitude of the earthquake was of 3,7 in scale Richter. It was felt in the Old one, Corinto, Chinandega, Chichigalpa and Leon.
Day 26 of February, to 02:34 a.m., local time, an earthquake in the sector of the Willow was registered, Leon. The magnitude of the earthquake was of 3.5. The earthquake was felt by all the inhabitants of the Willow. The people who live in the Department of Leon woke up. Damages were not reported.
