Characterization Hydrogeology of groundwater in the country
Key aquifers in the North Central and Pacific Region
In the Pacific region which is the most densely populated, are the main aquifers in the country.
These contain the greatest potential for groundwater supply for human, agricultural and industrial activities.
The main aquifers in the country, highlighting those in the area of the West (Leon and Chinandega): aquifer Western 2172.10 km ², with Black River 1270.66 km ², and Malpaisillo with 1072.00 sq.
In the South: Rivas-Nandaime with 879.00 km ², and the Plateau de los Pueblos with 208.20 sq. km.
In addition to the above aquifers in the North Central Region are aquifers in the Valleys Intramontanos may be mentioned among the most important Valley Sébaco, Jalapa, Pantasma, Esteli, Condega and Jinotega, and the Atlantic Region Escondido River.
Levels piezométricos groundwaters are from 10 meters, in the coastal areas of lakes, rivers and oceans. Also reach these levels depths up to 490 meters high in the upper area of El Crucero.
